Wilo SE sets up Kolhapur pumping system unit

Wilo SE, a leading manufacturer of pumping system had set up a manufacturing plant in Kolhapur in Maharashtra with an investment of Rs. 1000 million. It will manufacture standardized water handling pump and pumping systems. It is also setting up a R&D centre with around 40 engineers for new generation product development. Besides manufacturing for domestic market, Wilo SE will also produce for Mather & Platt - its subsidiary for global operations.

Bosch Packaging sets up new plant in Goa

Project Location :

Bosch Packaging Technology is planning to set up a new plant in Verna Industrial Estate in Goa with an investment of Rs. 250 million. It will manufacture packaging machines for pharma and confectionery segment. Currently, it is operating from a rented premises from 1995. The new plant will go operational in 2013

KIOCL to manufacture ductile iron pipes

KIOCL an export oriented unit under the Ministry of Steel is planning to set up a ductile iron pipe manufacturing unit with Vizag Steel. The project will entail an investment of Rs.6300 million and will have a capacity of 100,000 tpa, a coke oven battery of 300,000 tpa and a gas based captive power generation unit of 27 MW. The market for pipes is favourable with synergy of both companies will benefit the forward integration programme. Manufacturing pig iron will cost Rs.32K a tonne, while to make pipes it will be Rs.45K per tonne. The current market price of ductile iron pipe is around Rs.58K which will be profitable. The new plant is likely to become operational in 2012-13. Ductile iron pipes are in huge demand in India and abroad and is opted over cast iron pipes in the field of irrigation projects, drinking water supply and sewerage projects, and other large infrastructure projects.

Carborundum Universal to set up greenfield unit in Gujarat

Carborundum Universal, a leading manufacturer of abrasive materials is planning to set up a greenfield manufacturing facility in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 1000 million. The project will manufacture brown fused alumina will have a capacity of 35000 tpa. It will also have a 24 MW lignite based captive power generation unit. It has entered into a joint-venture agreement with Gujarat Mineral Development Corp for the project. CUMI will hold the majority stake of 51% in the venture.
