Jyoti CNC to expand overseas

Jyoti CNC, a Rajkot based manufacturer of CNC machines has bought France-based Huron Graffenstaden for a sum of Rs.1500 million in 2007. However, recession intervened to make any serious progress in global markets. Now the company is planning to invest Rs. 2500 million to expand its manufacturing plant here and plans to assemble in France. Its R&D and access to lucrative European markets where there is a price different of 70-80% from India will help the company to gain advantage.

Grundfos Pumps plans phase II expansion

Grundfos Pumps, a Denmark based company which has operations in Chennai has invested Rs. 176 million. The new facility is equipped to manufacture material handling equipment needed to handle pumps and components. It also has a test bed capacity to handle upto 300 kw which will be used in large infrastructure projects. The company has also bought 16 acres in Sriperumbudur to set up another plant there.

Ashley Alteams opens diecasting facility at Cheyyar

Ashley Alteams India Pvt Ltd has commissioned its manufacturing facility at Cheyyar in 2010. The plant will produce components for telecommunications and automotive industry. The plant has a capacity of 7000 tonnes of HDPC products and has plans to raise to 10000 tonnes a year. It may be noted, the company was set up between Ashok Leyland and Alteams of Finland as a joint-venture. Ashok Leyland is also setting up a construction equipment manufacturing facility at Gummidipoondi in Tamil Nadu with technical collaboration with John Deree of US.

Bihar Tubes Hosur unit to go on-stream

Bihar Tubes has commissioned its 200,000 tpa steel tubes unit in Hosur Tamil Nadu. The project was set up with an investment of Rs. 1000 million and now the company has an overall capacity of 4,00,000 tpa. The company has Ashok Leyland, Tata Delhi Airport, Gujarat Gas, Marcopolo, IRCON and Mundra SEZ as clients and working on  new solutions to airports, metro network and greenhouses.
