URB Group, a Romania based company had set up a manufacturing facility in Rajasthan with an investment of 50 million Euros. The plant will have an installed capacity of 1000 tonnes a year of bearings. The plant will import raw material from Romania and will produce high quality bearings. The company has plans to sell 70% locally.
Velan Inc had set up a manufacturing facility in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu with an investment of USD 10 million. Velan Inc, a Canadian based company had set up an Indian subsidiary -Velan Valves India Pvt Ltd. The company is to supply valves to NTPC super critical projects and will produce small forged valves.
Unilever is planning to set up a manufacturing facility at Khamgaon near Thane in Maharashtra with an investment of Euro 70 million. It will produce aerosol based products like deodorants and will serve markets of South East Asia besides India. The investment will be phased over 2-3 years.
Virgo Engineers, a manufacturer of valves have set up a facility in Marg Swarnabhoomi SEZ in ECR in Tamil Nadu. The new facility is spread over one lakh sq.ft and had invested around Rs. 400 million. It is also setting up a foundry in Coimbatore to meet its demand. Besides this, the company have also set up a manufacturing plant in Italy and acquired an existing facility in Germany.
