Frascold India, an Italy based cooling solutions provider is setting up a manufacturing facility in Matoda in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 600 million. The company is set up under a joint venture between Italy's Frascold and co-promoters Subash Aggarwal and Selvraj Rangaswamy. The facility will have an initial capacity of 7500 units and will expand to manufacture compressors at a later stage. With FDI in retail being allowed, Walmart, Tesco, IKEA entry is likely to boost market for cooling solutions.
Proman Infrastructure Services India Ltd is planning to set up a greenfield plant in Bidadi in Karnataka. The company has acquired 2 acre land to set up the manufacturing unit. It will manufacture crushers, screening and grinding systems. The construction of the plant will begin by Feb 2013.
Shanghai Hitachi, a joint venture between Shanghai Highly Group and Hitachi Appliances is planning to set up a manufacturing facility in Changodar near Ahmedabad. The project will entail an investment of Rs. 5000 million. It will produce H/L series compressors and has already acquired 40000 sq.meters of land on lease. It has also formed a India specific company ' Highly Electrical Appliances India Private Ltd'. The plant is likely to go operational by 2014.
Starrag India, the subsidiary of Swiss based Starrag Group had set up a machining plant in Devanahalli Aerospace Park near Bangalore. The new facility had been set up with an investment of Rs. 600 million. It will roll out popular machine tools like WMW Horizontal Machining Centres. The factory will provide apprenticeship to local technicians.
