Pitti Laminations is expanding its manufacturing facility at Hyderabad with an investment of Rs. 310 million. The capacity is being raised from 25000 tpa to 35000 tpa in line with rise in demand for electrical lamination products. Currently, the Indian domestic consumption of electrical laminations is estimated at 300,000 tpa. The company is focusing on value added products for railways and aviation sector
Poggenamp Nagarsheth Powertronics Ltd had set up a manufacturing facility in Vavdi in Kheda in Gujarat in joint venture with Posco to produce transformer laminate . The project cost is estimated at Rs. 720 million. Posco will supply cold rolled non grain oriented (CRNGO) required for manufacturing transformer laminate as the same is in short supply in India. The product will also be exported abroad in Middle East and Europe.
Siemens had set up two greenfield plants in Goa to manufacture voltage gas insulated switchgear upto a capacity of 36 kv, primary distribution switchgear, ring main units and compact sub-station. The products will be deployed in power distribution and numerical power relays. The new units will have their own in-house research & development.
