Samsung India to expand its refrigeration facility at Sriperumpudur

Samsung India, is planning to expand its refrigeration plant at Sriperumpudur near Chennai with an investment of Rs. 3500 million over a period of next 5 years. It will increase its capacity to 1.2 million units a year and will roll out 29 frost free and direct cool model refrigerators. Currently, the company has a market share of 30%.

Panasonic to set up greenfield plant in Jhajj

Panasonic is planning to invest USD 220 million to set up a manufacturing facility in Dadri Toy in Jhajjar Model Economic Township in Haryana. The plant will be set up over 76 acres and will also function as Panasonic head quarters in India. It will set up production lines for refrigerators, air conditioners, welding systems and washing machines, flat panel televisions, microwave ovens and other electronic products.

The Company has completed the manufacturing facility and will continue to invest about 200 million USD upto the year 2015. The two phase project owned 100 per cent by Panasonic Corporation will cut imports from Malaysia and Thailand and boost export to Middle East and Africa.

Blue Star plans new plant in Changodar in Ahmedabad

Blue Star, a leading refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment company is setting up a new plant in Changodar in Ahmedabad with an investment of Rs. 150 million. The new plant will produce refrigeration products like bottle coolers, water coolers, deep freezers and milk coolers. Currently, the company has six plants across the country. The new plant is likely to go operational by mid 2012.

Franke Faber to set up a greenfield unit in Sanaswadi

Project Location : Sanaswadi, Pune District, Maharashtra

Frank Faber, a leading manufacturer of kitchen chimneys is setting up a greenfield unit in Sanswadi in Pune with an investment of Rs. 500 million. The new unit will have a capacity to manufacture 5 lakh hoods, 3 lakh hobs and one lakh other appliances. It will be implemented in phases, while phase I commercial production will begin by January 2012. It may be noted, the company is a direct subsidiary of Franke Artemis group of Switzerland and has already a functional plant in Pune.
