Energetic Lighting, a joint-venture between VP Electromech and Energetic Lighting Inc, USA is setting up a manufacturing facility at Bawal in Haryana. The company has its first plant at Manesar and its total investment is around Rs.2000 million. Currently, the CFL market in India is estimated at 260 million bulbs and is growing at 25-30% per year. Major players in the field include Philips, Crompton, Bajaj, Wipro and Osram

Surya Roshini to set up spiral pipeline manufacturing facility

Surya Roshini is planning to invest Rs. 4000 million at Bhuj in MP to set up a manufacturing facility. The new unit will produce pole lamps and high masts and will have a annual capacity of two lakh tonnes. It plans to explore new markets in Canada and some of the Asian countries .

Havells India to make Rajasthan unit as hub for CFL exports

Havells India, expecting a export target of US$ 200 million in next five years to European markets plans to make India as export hub. The company has invested around Rs.1500 million to produce 40 million units of CFL at its Neemrana plant in Rajasthan. It has closed its UK operations and plans to consolidate operations in India to increase efficiencies. Apart from Neemrana, the company has also plants at Haridwar and Faridabad

Trivitron ties up with Brandon to manufacture lighting products for healthcare

Trivitron, a Chennai based medical technologies firm has formed a 51-49% joint-venture with Brandon, UK based firm to Brandon-Trivitron Technologies. The company will manufacture shadow-lights used in operation theatre. Currently, most of the operation theatre use halogen lamps instead of HD-LED lamps. In India, it is imported and the market for the same is estimated at Rs.2000 million. A new plant will come up at Sriperumpudur Science Tech Park with initial investment of US$ 2 million.
