Wirtgen plans new production facility in Pune

Wirtgen, the German based company that manufactures road construction equipment plans a new manufacturing facility in Pune with an investment of Rs. 300 million. The new plant will produce vibratory compactors from 2010. It will have 60% local content. This move was made, as the market for compactors is very competitive and having a local manufacturing facility will help the company to gain market share. The company is selling the equipment from Germany from 1995.
