Ravin Cables signs up venture with Prysmian Group,

Ravin Cables, a leading manufacturer in cables has signed a joint-venture agreement with Prysmian Group of Italy to manufacture low, medium, high voltage cables. The group has secured 51% stake while the remaining vests with the promoters. The company has its primary manufacturing facilities at Pune. It also has a joint-venture agreement with Power Plus Cable Co LLC, a joint-venture company with government of Fujairah. Currently, the Indian market does not have much technical expertise and the company intends to capitalize much on this venture.

V-Guard to venture into cable manufacturing

V-Guard, the Coimbatore based stabilizer manufacturer is venturing into cable manufacturing by setting up two plants in Uttaranchal and Coimbatore. The plants will manufacture aluminium cables and copper cables with PVC and XLPE insulated cables. The plants have a capacity to process 3000 tonnes of aluminium and 300 tonnes of copper. It aims to garner business to the tune of Rs.2000 million in its first year of operations. The company also finds strength in its wide distribution network of electrical goods, consumer goods like water heater etc.,
